Recipe for gaining Water Confidence
- Take a couple of kids
- Place near a shallow pool – best in water where they can comfortably stand
- Cream well and line with sun protection clothes
- Throw in a favourite toy or two
- allow the child to decide when to enter the water
- Allow the child to explore at his or her own rate
- Set the temperature on slow and patient
- Sit back and watch the confidence rise
- Repeat at least three (3) times per week for approximately four (4) weeks
- If still slightly underdone, allow another few weeks
- Add a pinch of swimming lessons (at least one (1) per week)
- Sprinkle with praise
- And enjoy a deliciously happy child whose confidence will definitely satisfy
